Sophia Gonzon born June 27th 2002 (18 years old) is an American singer and songwriter, of Italian descent currently based in Boca Raton, Florida. She began her music career in November 2018. Her first recording session was intended as music therapy, after the last bullying incident she endured freshman year in high school. Doctor’s believe the trauma brought on her daily chronic migraines, fibromyalgia and PTSD she is still battling today. Sophia was only 16 years old at the time when her first single ever recorded “Daddy Issues” was released on January 21, 2019. Within the first two months of the release, her song gained 100K+ streams on Spotify, and to date has amassed 5m+ streams/views collectively, between all of her social media and music platforms. Sophia’s “Daddy Issues” is a story shared by many who can relate to the culture of bullying. The song meets bullying and intimidation head on by promoting self love, growth, and perspective.
Shortly after, her follow up single “Out My Way” was released on April 17, 2019, intended as an anthem to inspire women and young girls around the world who may be suffering like herself from burdensome conditions like PTSD, chronic migraines, OCD, clinical depression, social anxiety, etc., to stay strong and persevere.
In December of 2019 she began recording in Los Angeles California with Katie Cherry(singer/songwriter,musician,producer), Narek Ambar,(highly accredited mix mastering engineer with artists like, Will Smith, Joyner Lucas, Future, G-Eazy, Swae Lee, French Montana, Lil Baby, Desiigner, The Game, Lil Pump, PNB Rock, Jeremiah, Danileigh, Jadakiss, Stefflon Don, Gashi, Lil Mosey, Mossy, Jen Carlos, and so many more!) and producer, Chris Hoyle. It was then that she created her song “Enough” a powerful anti violence song she released on June 26th. Just prior to that release She also released a beautiful rendition of Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” featuring- Katie Cherry, which included a full production music video. The video was filmed by Hector Felix, and co-stared actor, Alex Lange along with Sophia, and Katie Cherry.
On June 26th Sophia Released XYZ. XYZ was recorded at Bay Eight Studios in Miami, with vocal coach/producer Anita Faye Wilson (who has worked with artists such as Whitney Houston and Gloria Estefan) and the the music group Plyback (payback has worked with artists such as Lil Wayne, Kodak Black,YFN Lucci, Flo Rida, Trinav ,Slightly Stooped , Farruko, Miky Woodz, and more). It is a fun mid to upbeat tempo POP/R&B song about realizing your worth and knowing its ok to end toxic relationships whether it’s romantic or just friendship. Prior to that release she recorded and released a cover of Sam Smith’s “To Die For”. The cover was also recorded at Bay Eight Studio’s with Anita Faye Wilson.
Sophia was recently discovered on Instagram by Producer, Cesar-Da Emperor. Cesar, is signed with Create Music Group, and also managed by Dre London, who also manages Post Malone, Tyga, Tyla Yahweh and more. Together with Ryan Curtis,(singer/songwriter signed to Kobalt Music) they created the first song ever recorded at Create Music Group’s new Massive facility in LA making Sophia the first Artist to record there. The song entitled “Dancing with The Devil” is on the rock side of POP, and finally in the Genre she believes most depicts who she is as an artist. Creatively this new team has given her the support to hone in on her Brand as they continue to work on her next Pop Rock song. She is now in the process of signing with Create Music Group and planning the release of “Dancing With The Devil”. With all of her new music you can expect nothing but , strong vocals with a mix of powerful, and delicate intermingling harmonizing melodies, topped off with a tinge of edgy grit layered through her signature awing tone.
